Labour Weekend Convention 2020

The club had a great weekend together in the Wairarapa for our annual Labour Weekend Convention!

We all arrived on Friday, followed by a meet and greet with nibbles at the Copthorne Hotel & Resort, Solway Park in Masterton.

On Saturday we visited Stonehenge Aotearoa, then were off to Luna Estate in Martinborough for some delicious wine and lunch. After lunch, we visited the Martinborough Square and Greytown for some shopping & sight seeing. On Saturday night we went out as a group to CBK Masterton for a meal and some drinks. The theme for our night out was Black and White with a dash of colour. We all had a great time and had fun dancing with the DJ.

On Sunday we held our annual Show & Shine on the front lawn of the Copthorne. With our Tbirds on display we collected a total of 147 votes and we had our 'Top 5' and 'People's Choice' winners. It appears black and white cars were the flavour of the year!

Show & Shine Top 5

The Top 5 Thunderbirds as voted by the public at our 2020 Labour Weekend Convention. The People's Choice winner with the most votes went to the white '57 Ford Thunderbird.

After the Show & Shine, we cruised into Carterton to visit The Buckhorn for lunch and then we were off to Masterton Motorplex drag strip. Most of the members ran their cars down the track and it was hard to get the girls to stop!

The AGM was then held in the event room at the Copthorne with a meal, followed by our prize giving where we awarded this years trophies for the Show & Shine Top 5.
