About Us
The Ford Thunderbird Owners Club of NZ Inc. was founded after a group of Thunderbird enthusiasts met in Hamilton, Labour Weekend 1994. For over 25 years, our main objective has been to preserve and promote the Ford Thunderbird motor car and to have fun while doing it!
Our club currently has over 78 family members, predominantly from the North Island as far North as Kaitaia and as far South as Nelson. We hold various events throughout the year and members also catch up at hot rod runs and car shows such as Beach Hop and the Kumeu Hot Rod & Classic Car Show.
The highlight event of the year is our Annual Convention held each Labour Weekend at varying cities around New Zealand. It is is by far our largest event, with a great turnout each year. Over the weekend, members are treated to a mix of activities and entertainment and we hold our annual Car Show, which is judged by members of the public followed by a prize giving.
We are always looking to increase the number of events available to our club members and encourage members to organise and attend events in their area. Check out our Events page for upcoming meet ups.
We are a great bunch of people and we welcome new members! In our club it's not all about the cars, though they are a common talking point. We pride ourselves on being a fun loving group and we even have 3rd generation T-bird kids in the club!
If you would like to join, please complete our registration form and we will be in touch.
